Signal System Installation

DESCRIPTION

Condor Signal & Communications Inc. (formerly Advanced Railway Concepts Ltd.) was awarded a contract by the Alaska Railroad to install a new signal system through the city of Anchorage, and north on the main line for approximately 60 miles.

TASKS

The system involved installation of cables, foundations, and all other signal equipment for 14 new or modified interlockings including 6 new power operated passing sidings, with approach signals, and a radio based code system.
Where commercial power was not available, combination solar/wind/generator systems were installed. Condor performed all pre-commissioning testing and then assisted railway personnel in final system operational tests.
